Connect2016 workshops:
Early Years Forum
The third sector is a rich and diverse resource that can have a key role in shaping and delivering services which put the wellbeing of children and young people at the centre of organisational cultures.
However, there are significant challenges that continue to prevent the full engagement of the third sector. The National Third Sector GIRFEC Project aims to support the third sector locally and nationally to address these.
Dumfries and Galloway’s Third Sector Early Years Forum will be receiving support from the National GIRFEC Project over the coming year.
This workshop will provide delegates with the opportunity to consider:
  • the production of a living action plan for the Forum
  • how best the third sector can be included in the design and delivery of new and tested services for children and families
  • the need for input at a strategic and planning level with the public sector
Other workshops:
  • Nuts and Bolts of Fundraising
  • Enabling State
  • Developing and Managing Your People

Kendoon to Tongland 132kV Reinforcement Project

Kendoon to Tongland 132kV Reinforcement Project
Second round of consultation: October 31 to December 21, 2016
Deadline for feedback January 13, 2017

We would like to let you know about the second round of consultation on our plans to improve Dumfries and Galloway’s electricity transmission system, which will start on October 31.

As you may remember, last year SP Energy Networks consulted communities on a project known as the Dumfries and Galloway Strategic Reinforcement Project (DGSR). After further review and cost-benefit analysis to make sure we deliver the most efficient and economical solution, we have reduced this scheme. It is now known as the Kendoon to Tongland 132kV Reinforcement (KTR) Project.

The KTR Project comprises part of the original DGSR scheme which involved replacing the existing 132kV overhead lines between Kendoon and Tongland with new 132kV overhead lines.

The first round of consultation helped us identify a proposed corridor within which we could seek potential routes for the new lines. We are now asking people for their views on the routes we identified, in particular our preferred routes.

The second round of consultation will run for eight weeks from October 31 until December 21 2016, with an extended deadline of January 13 2017 for submitting feedback. All the key documents are available on our project website and at various information points in the area. There will also be a number of local exhibitions in the first week of November. Please click here for details.

If you have any questions in the meantime please call our KTR community relations team on 0800 157 7353 or email us at this address

If you no longer wish to receive updates relating to this project, please reply to this message using the word UNSUBSCRIBE in the message header.

Kind regards
