Kirkton Village Hall
AGM
This Friday- 15th October at 7.30 pm
Hi everyone,
This is just to offer you a warm invitation to attend the AGM of Kirkton Hall Committee which will take place this Friday in the hall.
It is an especially important meeting as the change from a Charity to a Scottish Incorporated Charitable Organisation requires to be confirmed. This change has been made to protect committee members from liability in hall related issues, and is the culmination of a great deal of administrative work over a period of two years.
In addition, the thorny issue of the sustainability of the running of the hall must be addressed. The present committee is severely under strength and “ageing”. It very much needs an input of new blood.
There is a definite possibility that the use of the Hall could be severely curtailed if new committee members do not come forward.
We need people with new ideas for using the Hall.
As so often, institutions like the hall committee when viewed from the outside look like a very large commitment. This is definitely NOT the case, but a vibrant committee (preferably younger!) is needed to ensure that all aspects necessary for the successful continuation of the activities are maintained.
I hope you can make it on Friday.
Regards
David Muir (Chair)
