Family Fun Day Rescheduled to 21st Aug

Viking Shield Instructions

 The Family Fun day has been rescheduled to 21st August 2021 - 12- 4pm - you should receive your leaflet with details soon.

For your child's viking shield I have put card, gaffa tape, egg box, paper and instructions in the Kirkton phone box for the kids who don't attend Duncow primary. Please return the tape and instructions once you've made your shields. Have fun. Decorate any way they fancy - prizes for all shields. Instructions also attached below.

If you can spare a wee bit of time to help out on the day it would be greatly appreciated. We need volunteers to help make the day run smoothly eg

Car park

First aiders

Gate people

Help with set up and clearing away

Children's (and adults) games helpers

General help.

Decoration of field

This is a community event and we want to have as many people as possible involved. Please reply to this email if you can give us an hour of your time.

Kirkton Conservation Consultation updates.

 For anyone who can't find the link this is the area of concern regarding cancellation of conservation status. Please note we now have until 2022 to raise any concerns re this. I need to delay the proposed consultation on the future of some of the conservation areas for the present. 

 

It is hoped that a decision on when consultation will take place can be taken before the end of 2021.

Kirkton Conservation Area continued.

 Further to my email of Friday 30^th May 2021 it has been requested that in order to fulfil the minutes of Economy and Resources Committee in March 2021 and based on the discussion that took place, consultation should be carried with the communities affected by the proposed cancellation of a small number of conservation areas before a final decision is made by Economy and Resources Committee at its meeting of September 2021. 

 

This email relates to Kirkton Conservation Area within Kirkmahoe Community Council’s area.  The attached site notice will be put up in a few places within the conservation area.

 

In order to reach as many members of the community as possible it would be very helpful if the site notice were also posted on the Community Council social media pages, web page, in a community newsletter or on a noticeboard or whichever combination of methods the Community Council normally uses to reach people.

 

The consultation will begin on Monday 14^th June and continue until Monday 2^nd August 2021.  Comments received will be collated and summarised to be considered by Economy and Resources Committee in September 2021 for a decision.

 

The Council will also include the consultation on its web and social media pages with links to the Conservation Area Review from 14^th June 2021 to 2^nd August 2021.  On those dates the web page https://www.dumgal.gov.uk/consultations will link through to the Conservation Area Review  where the brief review leading to the proposed cancellation can be found.

Please find attached agenda for next meeting on 16th June 2021. Among the things to be discussed will be the Council's decision to remove the conservation status of Kirkton. We now have until 2nd August to respond to this matter and your input would be appreciated. Information on this subject is on the notice board in Kirkton, on KCC Facebook page and has been circulated via emails.

The Zoom link is on the agenda but if weather allows we may hold this meeting at the village green Kirkton. A decision will be made on Monday.
